Whether you're facing anxiety, relationship issues, or simply questioning your path in life, existential counselling provides a framework for exploring your authentic self.
Why do I call myself an “existential counsellor?” I have found that this approach can support clients facing not just life’s challenging experience but the humdrum everyday as well. The existential approach doesn’t attempt to solve problems, focussing instead on recognising them and exploring the deeper meanings underlying the difficulties we all face. Instead of tinkering around the edges, we can go deeper in search of purpose and authenticity.
In practice, I encourage you to describe their experiences without judgment, helping them see your situation more clearly – and sometimes share how I experience being with you. I use open-ended questions to invite deeper reflection and support you in reframing your life stories. And I encourage you to develop your sense of agency in your life and to embrace your potential for change. I will help you to:
